Assistant or Associate Professor in Biophysics


The Department of Physics at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM) seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (tenure-track, tenured) in experimental or theoretical biophysics, starting August 2015. The successful candidate is expected to establish an active research program, and engage in teaching and service commensurate with faculty rank. In addition to start-up support, UWM provides substantial funding opportunities through the Research Growth Initiative.


Candidates must have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in physics, biophysics, or a closely related field. A demonstrated track record of relevant publications in the field of biophysics is required.


Evidence of ability to collaborate with faculty members within the NSF Science and Technology Center “Biology with X-ray Lasers” is preferred. The Center is focused on the structure and dynamics of biological soft matter.
