| Description: | During the workshop, participants gain hands on experience in nozzle making and operation. The liquid injection nozzles are an essential part of most XFEL experiments and it is essential for all experiments, that samples are tested before the actual beamtimes to make sure, that the sample liquids are appropriate for the injection process. Liquid injection nozzles will be fabricated and then tested in a vacuum test chamber to simulate the conditions at the XFEL. The injection process is observed with an optical microscope, while adjustments to the nozzle and supply pressures are made to optimize the injection process. |
