BioXFEL Fellowship for URM Graduate Students

BioXFEL Fellowship for URM Graduate Students

The BioXFEL Science and Technology Center is committed to providing support to underserved populations of graduate students by promoting their inclusion in and access to XFEL fields. In an effort to continue support of the scientific research, professional, and educational development of the URM students, BioXFEL is awarding up to four graduate students, a $16,000 fellowship to support their research endeavors. This fellowship can be used to purchase any necessary supplies or to supplement their stipend for 1 year. Funds are distributed to and managed by individual departments at the student's home University.

More details on the application process can be found below. Students who are accepted into the Fellowship will become BioXFEL Scholars and will have access to all BioXFEL resources, including funding for our conference, travel awards, professional development events, and the Individual Development Program (IDP). After the award is announced, BioXFEL Fellows will also be expected to assist with the development of an independent program at their home institution that is designed to engage a broader audience and expand the reach of the Center. Ideally, these new programs would exist beyond the tenure of the student and represent a legacy of BioXFEL Fellowships. See what our past fellows have created.
