Mark S. Hunter, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Advanced Diagnostics and Instrumentation Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).

Dr. Hunter received his B.A., in Chemistry from Wilkes University in 2006, and continued his studies, obtaining a Ph.D., in Chemistry from Arizona State University in 2011. Currently, his research at LLNL focuses upon developing protein crystallography techniques for coherent X-ray diffraction imaging (CDXI) and developing fixed target 2D and 3D protein crystallography. Additionally, he is engaged in collaborative studies with the University of California, Davis (UC-Davis), exploring utilization of biological imaging.

Dr. Hunter is a member of the Center for Biophotonics Science & Technology (CBST), a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center. He continues his co-authorship, contributing to several publications, while affiliated with leading research institutions, including the CBST; UC-Davis; PULSE Center; SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory; Arizona State University; University of Hamburg (Germany); Max Planck Institute for Medical Research and Uppsala University (Sweden).
