We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the Pollack Lab in the School of Applied and Engineering Physics at Cornell University. We are an interdisciplinary research group, known for the innovative application of x-ray scattering to study biological macromolecules.
The goal of this project is to develop and apply new instruments for time-resolved biophysical studies at x-ray free electron laser (XFEL) sources.
We are particularly interested in solution scattering (SAXS and WAXS) based methods that exploit XFEL beam properties. The successful candidate should have excellent experimental (hands-on) skills, a knowledge of x-ray scattering and an interest in biophysical problems.
This position is funded through the Cornell component of the BioXFEL STC. The position is open beginning in August.
Applicants should send a C.V. and a brief statement of research interests along with the names of several people who can provide letters of recommendation upon request.
