~ Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

Supports highly qualified undergraduate students seeking a research career in the fields of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering.

~  Morris K. UDALL Scholarship

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment.

~ Harry S. Truman Scholarship

This scholarship provides funding support for graduate students/graduates up to $30,000 annually toward a public service related degree.

~ Thomas R. Pickering Scholarship Program

Students within an academic program relevant to international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy.

~ Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

The Gilman Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.

Boren Scholarship

This scholarship provides financial support for undergraduate students who wish to add an international and language element to their educational endeavors.

~ Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Funding Opportunities

The DHS offers a variety of prestigious scholarships, fellowships, internships and training opportunities to expose talented students to the broad national security mission.

~ NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)

Applicants must be a graduating senior, have a high GPA, and possess past research experience. Graduate students can apply for this scholarship either in their first or second year of graduate school.

~ National Defense Science Engineering Graduate Fellowship

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowships are awarded to applicants who will pursue a doctoral degree in, or closely related to, an area of Department of Defense interest within a qualified STEM disciplines.

~ SMART Scholarship Program

Open to all students on academic levels from undergraduate freshman to PhD student. The scholarship provides full financial assistance to those who are selected as recipients.

~ James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation - Junior Fellowship

Awarded to outstanding college seniors and college graduates without teaching experience who intend to become secondary school teachers of American history, American government or any other social studies class where you will teach topics on the Constitution in grades 7-12. Junior fellows are expected to complete graduate study within two academic years of full-time study.

~ Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship

Awards individuals with a background in STEM full tuition and a $30,000 stipend with automatic admission into a graduate program at one of the organization's partnering colleges/universities. The individual will be expected to obliged to a three-year teaching commitment at a high-need secondary school in Georgia or New Jersey.

~ Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program

 The scholarship program fully funds any individual who is accepted into a graduate program at Stanford University.

~ Critical Language Scholarship at UB

This scholarship is open to students attending University at Buffalo (UB). It is a fully-funded summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students.

 

Study Abroad Scholarships and Fellowships 

~ The Rhodes Scholarship

Funds 1-4 years of graduate study at the University of Oxford (UK) and is awarded to seniors and recent graduates. Institutional nomination is require and cannot be applied to directly.

 ~ The Marshall Scholarship

 Provides financial support for individuals pursuing a graduate degree at one of the universities in the UK and is awarded to seniors and recent graduates who demonstrate exceptional academic merit, leadership potential and ambassadorial potential.

 ~ The George J. Mitchell Scholarship

 Provides financial support for a year of graduate study in Ireland or Northern Ireland and is awarded to seniors or graduates who demonstrate evidence of significant achievement in three areas: scholarship, leadership, and commitment to community and public service.

 ~ The Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Provides financial support for students attending the University of Cambridge (UK) in pursuit of a postgraduate degree.

~ Schwarzman Scholarship

This scholarship is open to graduating seniors and recent alumni. Provides funding to those who are planning to pursue a one-year master’s at China’s Tsinghua University in Economics, International Studies, or Public Policy. Institutional nomination is require and cannot be applied to directly.

~ DAAD Annual Grants

Undergraduate scholarship eligible for foreign nationals attending a US institution for an undergraduate degree to study in the Federal Republic of Germany.

~ Fulbright Scholarship Program

Provides funding students wishing to gain an international experience. Eligibility will depend on the type of award. Here are a list of current awards: Study/Research Award, English Teaching Assistant Award, Fulbright-mtvU Award, Fulbright-Nat Geo Fellowship, and Critical Language Enhancement Award (please see website for more details).

~ Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics

Essay contest for full-time juniors or seniors. Prizes range from $500 - $5,000.

~ Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for Artists
